Andy Whitfield Cancer: Australian actor and Spartacus: Blood And Sand star Andy Whitfield has returned to Sydney as he attempts to battle a second round of cancer. recently announcing the recurrence of the non-Hodgkins lymphoma he was diagnosed with in February and subsequently quitting the TV action series that propelled him to stardom in the USWhitfield, 36, also appeared "sick" while walking into the Oscar Oscar Salon in Paddington this week, however, the hairdressers refused to comment when contacted yesterday.

He went into remission afterwards but in September confirmed the cancer was back. Spartacus producers are currently searching for an actor to replace Whitfield and, according to Deadline Hollywood, it is down to three finalists - Stephen Amell, Aiden Turner and Australian Liam McIntyre, who appeared in Pacific.

Actor Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in March, forcing Starz to commission a prequel called Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena as a stop-gap. Whitfield announced his cancer's remission earlier this summer, prompting the likelihood season 2 would be back for September 2011, but the cancer has apparently reoccurred and the actor's again seeking medical treatment.
